January 23-25, 2015

I am thrilled to annouce that I have been selected as an instructor for the 2015 Los Angeles A Cappella Festival, otherwise known as LA-AF! I will be teaching alongside one of my best friends and collaborators, Tracy LJ Robertson, as we lead a workshop in Circle Singing, a practice inspired by the work of Bobby McFerrin, Rhiannon, and Joey Blake at Berklee College of Music.

Headlining the festival will be world reknowned groups m-pact (all men's jazz group that will blow your ears off) and Women of the World, an all women's world group (says it all in the name!) that will be sure to leave your jaw on the floor. I am honored te be included among such luminaries in the field of A Cappella.

I have moved to Los Angeles!

September 15, 2014

After an exciting summer of traveling across the world and country for both musical and recreational endeavors, and after moving myself and my things and my car from Boston to Los Angeles, I can now offically call myself a California resident. My hopes for Los Angeles: to find the corners of this city that I can fall in love with; to find people with whom I can write and perform and explore; to have a space to create music; to challenge myself and dig deeper than I have ever before, so that I can create something to give back to you.

If you are here (or even if you're not!), I want to meet you, and write music with you or for you, and perform with or for you! Please don't hesitant so send a request or simple "hello!" from my contact page.

A review: Sounds of Summer - Erin Bentlage

June 19, 2014

Many thanks to Julia Shanks for her review of our June performance in Kendall Square.

"In keeping with a blossoming reputation for delivering evocative live performances, the Vermont native and a cappella aficionado offered the Kendall Square lunchtime crowd a range of jazz standards like “April in Paris” and “There Will Never Be Another You,” as well as her own titles, including “Whistle.” Erin’s performance provided the perfect soundscape on a sunny, sparkling day that saw lunchtime crowd and Farmer’s Market shoppers fill every table at North Plaza."

A sweet review of Erin's June performance at Kendall Square for Berklee's Summer in the City series.

"Bentlage navigated her lilting, stirring little voice through originals, standards and pop covers with equal ease. Though she lists her influences as ranging from Laura Marling and Becca Stevens to Sarah Vaughan, a gentle squeak in her voice calls Lady Day to mind — just enough edge in her pianissimo to make an intimate performance feel downright cozy."

Thank you to Daniel E. R.!
